What is Merry & Bright?

Merry & Bright is an annual holiday event hosted at Martini Town — a functioning outdoor film set that we transform each year into a magical, immersive holiday experience.

Each season, we collaborate with some of the region’s most talented film professionals to create a charming holiday escape. Guests can stroll through a twinkling small town, enjoy movie-style special-effects snow, and wander along an illuminated New York street — all brought to life through lights, music, and festive décor.

We’ve added even more to the experience with local artisans, live entertainers, and delicious hot drinks and comfort food to keep everyone warm and happy throughout the night.

And the magic doesn’t stop there — Merry & Bright continues to grow each year, adding new features, new vendors, and new experiences to keep the event fresh, exciting, and unforgettable.

Step into the magic of the season — watch highlights from 2023 and 2024 as Martini Town transforms into a festive holiday wonderland.

A letter from Gemma Martini

Hello Friends, Family, Colleagues, and Visitors,

We look forward to welcoming you to Martini Town! I’m thrilled to invite you to see this film backlot come to life for our Merry & Bright event in Langley, British Columbia.

Martini Town was designed and built by talented local film crew and since 2020, has been used as a backdrop for numerous TV series, movies, and commercials — bringing essential work to our community.

I would like to share my gratitude for the film crew and event team who worked with us bringing Martini Town to life for Merry & Bright. It would not be possible without your hard work and talents. From concept, design, site prep and decorating to traffic control and daily site management, the coordination of this event has taken efforts equal to that of a full-scale production. Thank you for your engagement, involvement, and enthusiasm!

Merry & Bright was created to bring some light and joy into the holiday season. We acknowledge that many members of our community are facing hardship and to provide our support, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank.

In closing, thank you for supporting the film industry in your community throughout the year. The telltale fluorescent arrows may indicate an interruption in your journey, but be assured that we, as an industry, endeavour to leave your community a better place by supporting local shops and restaurants and by employing dozens to hundreds of crew on each production, some of whom are likely to live near to you!

Happy holidays – may your season be Merry & Bright!
